NHSA H6/H7 Hoboken Phase 3 Construction and Traffic Management Activities: July 21st – July 25th, 2025

Project Overview
The goal of the project is to reduce combined sewer overflows (CSO’s) and improve the water quality of the Hudson River. As part of the project, new storm sewer lines and curb inlets will be installed which will alleviate drainage and potential flooding issues in the northern H6 and H7 drainage basins in Hoboken.

Construction Activities:

Jefferson Street

  • Sidewalk and Curb restoration on Jefferson at 14th

Madison Street between 13th and 14th

  • Sidewalk and Curb restoration

Adams Street between 15th Street and 16th Street

  • Installation of catch basin inlets and associated piping

Grand Street between 15th Street and 16th Street

  • Installation of piles and pile caps

  • Installation of 18" Storm pipe

  • Installation of manholes

Grand Street between 13th Street and 14th Street

  • Installation of piles, pile caps, and pipe cradles

  • Installation of 36" Storm pipe

  • Installation of manholes

15th Street between Adams Street and Grand Street

  • Installation of piles, pile caps, concrete cradles

  • Installation of 24" Storm pipe

  • Installation of manholes

13th Street between Adams Street and Grand Street

  • Installation of piles, pile caps, and concrete cradles

  • Installation of 48" Storm pipe

Traffic Management:

15th Street between Adams Street and Grand Street

  • No parking (24 hours, 7 days/week) signs will be placed on both sides  

  • Roadway open to all traffic

  • Academy Bus Services can access work area to enter/exit their parking lots.  

13th Street between Jefferson and Madison

  • No parking (24 hours, 7 days/week) signs will be placed on both sides of the Street.

Jefferson Street between 13th Street and 14th Street  

  • No parking (24 hours, 7 days/week) both sides of the street  

Madison and Jefferson Street between 14th and 15th Street  

  • No parking (24 hours, 7 days/week) both sides of the streets  

  • Academy Bus Service re-configured entrance/exit routing

Grand Street between 15th and 16th Street

  • No parking (24 hours, 7 days/week) on both sides of the street.

  • Road to be closed 24 hours, 7 days/week

  • Road used as staging area  

Grand Street between 13th and 14th Street

  • No parking (24 hours, 7 days/week) on both sides of the street.

  • Road to be closed during working hours (8 am to 6 pm) and road open during non-working hours.

  • Grand Street:  Roadway changed to 2-Way traffic (north and south) to allow access to resident garages/driveways.

  • Access to resident garages will be available during working hours and non-working hours.

16th Street between Jefferson Street and Adams Street  

  • Section of roadway is open to two-way traffic (east and west)

  • No Parking (24 hours, 7 days per week) both sides of the street

16th Street between Adams Street and Grand Street

  • No Parking (24 hours, 7 days per week) both sides of the street

13th Street between Adams Street and Grand Street

  • No parking (24 hours, 7 days/week) signs will be placed on both sides of 13th Street between Adams Street and Clinton Street

  • Road to be closed 24 hours, 7 days/week; however, residents will be allowed access in from Grand St to 1300 Grant St garage. 1200 Grand St garage to be accessed via 12th Street.

  • Traffic detour: Grand St to 11 St to Adams Street

  • Access to 1300 Grand Street Building Garage:  Residents to access the 13th Street garage from Adams Street with police assistance
