Administrative Coordinator
The Administrative Coordinator provides high-level administrative, organizational, and operational support to the Chief Financial Officer / Chief Operating Officer (CFO/COO) and Chief Engineer of the North Hudson Sewerage Authority. This role ensures efficient coordination of financial, engineering, and administrative functions. Full-time position/minimum of 35 hours a week.
Key Responsibilities
Manage complex calendars, schedule meetings, site visits, and conference calls for the CFO/COO and Chief Engineer as needed.
Provide clerical and secretarial support for CFO/COO and Chief Engineer.
Maintain files related to the responsibilities of the CFO/COO and Chief Engineer.
Compile financial data and assist with budget preparation, tracking, and reporting.
Coordinate board financial reports.
Assist with documentation for capital projects, permits, contracts, and compliance reporting.
Support regulatory submissions and tracking deadlines.
Assist with grant and funding documentation.
Oversee general office operations, supplies, and filing systems.
Maintain administrative policies and procedures.
Provide backup support for other office functions as directed.
Qualifications
Education
College-level Earned Certificate, Associate’s Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
Experience
5+ years of executive administrative experience, preferably supporting senior leaders.
Skills & Abilities
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Languages
Bilingual (Spanish preferred, but not required)
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: 45K - 55K

Lead Mechanic
As a Lead Mechanic, you’ll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services – uninterrupted. Based in Hoboken, New Jersey at the North Hudson Sewerage Authority, you’ll have the opportunity to lead a variety of tasks in the preventive and corrective maintenance on water/wastewater treatment plants and related facilities on an assigned shift and lead the day to day activities. You’ll contribute to the success of our program with efficient preventive maintenance and effective solutions to challenges that may arise in municipal facilities. You’ll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on buildings, structures, grounds, machinery and equipment; lubricate equipment and check for malfunctions; replace packing in pumps or valves; replace bearings in motors, pumps, and other equipment; tune engines, set valve clearance, clean, and adjust regulators; examine equipment failures to identify cause and to prevent recurrences; and install and sets up new equipment. You’ll also clean and paint interior and exterior equipment and buildings; clean out pipes and perform other plumbing and pipe fitting tasks as required; use gas and/or arc welding equipment to heat, cut, braze, or weld; perform duties of painter in their absence; assist in keeping maintenance records; and perform other duties as required. Most importantly, you’ll take action to ensure the safety, health and well-being of you and your team.
• Welding experience required
• Five years of experience in the maintenance of wastewater treatment plants and related equipment, or similar industrial setting leading teams
• Two years of experience working on pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, motors, controls and other equipment related to wastewater treatment and processing
• Possess a valid driver’s license with no major infractions
• Proficient in the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
• Knowledge of the methods, materials, equipment and instruments used in the maintenance, repair and calibration of electrical and electronic control systems
• Familiarity with the principles and practices of wastewater treatment plant operations and process control
• Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) certification or ability to obtain
• Knowledge of related state and federal laws and regulations

Mechanic I
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance at wastewater treatment plants and related facilities equipment on an assigned shift.
Position requires performing preventive and corrective maintenance on buildings, structures, grounds, machinery and equipment; lubricating equipment and checking for malfunctions; replacing packing in pumps or valves; replacing bearings in motors, pumps, and other equipment; tuning engines, setting valve clearance, cleaning, and adjusting regulators; aligning moving equipment; analyzing equipment failures to determine cause and to prevent recurrences; installing and seting up new equipment; cleaning out pipes and performing other plumbing and pipe fitting tasks as required; using gas and/or arc welding equipment to heat, cut, braze, or weld; and ability to read and interpret construction plans, prints, and specifications and electrical schematics.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, Welding experience required, five years experience in the maintenance and repair of engines, pumps, and other
mechanical and electrical equipment; possess a valid driverís license; and ability to enter data into a Computer Maintenance Management System.
Preferred qualifications include trade school education with an emphasis on electrical and mechanical equipment and metal fabrication; knowledge of the methods, materials, equipment, and tools used in the construction, repair, and operation of engines, pumps, and other mechanical equipment related to water/wastewater treatment plant operations and procedures; knowledge of the operations of internal combustion engines and electrical pump motors; safe work practices; experience with HVAC systems and boilers; knowledge of SCADA, PLC and VFD systems; and has training in OSHA required programs.

Collections Operator-in-Training
Performs a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of the collection system on an assigned shift. An NJDEP C1 Operators License will need to be obtained within the first two years of employment with Jacobs.
Position assists Collections Operator in the use of sewer cleaning, clearing and rodding equipment, all repairs to collection systems; cleaning of bar screen facilities located throughout the collection system; performing weekly preventive maintenance on all equipment as needed; and keeping maintenance records using a CMMS system, develop computer spreadsheets, and use Word and Excel. Must learn and gain skills in a variety of equipment and tools used in maintaining the collection system; has the ability to read and interpret sewer maps, construction plans, prints, specifications and Operations and Maintenance Manuals; and the ability to diagnose simple wastewater collection system problems.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and possess valid Class B Commercial Driverís License.
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of collection system and tools, equipment, materials used to maintain and repair system; knowledge or previous experience in water or wastewater treatment, operations, or collections; has applicable OSHA training including, but not limited to, Confined Space Entry and Lock-out/Tag-out procedures; and has obtained the NJDEP C1 Operators License.
