The North Hudson Sewerage Authority (NHSA) was featured in CBS New York's full coverage of City of Water Day in Hoboken on July 25, 2026. With the event now behind us, we are sharing the segment so the whole community can watch. The feature spotlights our work to protect the Hudson River and strengthen flood resilience across Hoboken, Weehawken, Union City, and West New York.

City of Water Day brought families from across the region to Maxwell Place Park for free kayaking, hands on workshops, and a chance to learn how our community protects its waterways. CBS New York's coverage captured the day on the Hoboken waterfront and NHSA's role in it.

In the segment, NHSA leadership discussed how climate change and heavier rainfall have shaped nearly every project the Authority has taken on over the past decade, and how sustained investment in sewer and stormwater infrastructure is producing measurable results, including a significant reduction in flooding across Hoboken.

The coverage also underscored a message NHSA carries into the community all year: protecting local waterways is a shared responsibility. Simple habits like flushing only toilet paper, keeping fats, oils, and grease out of drains, and disposing of household waste properly help prevent the blockages and backups that strain the system and threaten the Hudson River.
