Collection System Improvements - 3 Sewer Lining Schedule Week of September 28th, 2026

Purpose of Project:
Rehabilitation of approximately 4,700 linear feet of combined sewers, manholes and service connection in the Cities of Union City and West New York.

Key Phases & Timeline

  • Sewer lining activities are expected to extend through the end of September September 25th - October 2nd.

Description of Work

  •  Clean and Video inspection of sewer mains.

Timing and Location:

  • 9/28 - 57th St. between Jefferson St and Jackson St--9am -4pm
    56th St between Jackson St and Madison St.--9am -4pm

  • 9/29 - 59th St between Madison St and Jackson St--8am -4pm
    Monitor Pl between Westover Pl and 62nd St.--8am -5pm

  • 9/30 -  Hudson Ave between 61st St and 62nd St. -- 8am -4pm

  • 10/1 - 65th St between JFK Blvd and Adams St -- 8am -4pm
    Polk St between 62nd St and 66th St.-- 8am -4pm

  • 10/2 – Jackson St. between 62nd St. and 65th St. --8am-4pm 

Traffic Information:

  • Road Closures: Police will be onsite to close the streets if needed.

  • Parking Restrictions: No Parking signs on both sides of the street on 57th St., Madison St., Palisade Ave., Jefferson St., and Liberty Pl.  There will be no parking restrictions on Bergenline.

  • Detours: None

  • Police Presence: Yes; two officers

Community Impacts:

  • Noise/Disruptions: Clean and TV could produce some short duration noise.
