Madison Street Infrastructure Improvements

The Madison Street Area Infrastructure Improvements project has been undertaken to mitigate localized flooding from rain events. To accomplish this, the project scope includes replacing existing inlets and sewer lines as well as elevating roadways, curbs, and sidewalks within the area. Ultimately, these improvements will alleviate the primary concerns by conveying the stormwater into the sewer system.

The following work and traffic management activities are anticipated for Monday, Aug 18th through Friday, Aug 22nd:

Work Activities:

  • Pile foundation installation to support utility lines such as sewer and water pipes.

  • Repaving all roadway construction and trench excavations.

  • Restoration of the construction site including full depth roadway reconstruction, as well as new sidewalks and street scape elements.

Traffic Management:

  • 11th Street between Monroe and Madison

    • Complete

  • Madison Street between 10th and 11th

    • Complete

  • Madison Street between 9th and 10th

    • Road Opens: August 13th (End of day)

    • Sidewalk and Lighting – 8/14-8/22

    • Base Paving: 9/17-9/19

  • 9th Street between Monroe and Madison

    • Road Closed: 8/18 – 8/29

    • Road Inlets and watermain connections 9/01- 9/26

    • Curb and Sidewalk 9/8-9/19

  • 9th Street, 11th Street, Madison Street between 8th and 11th

    • Limited daily closures for final paving 9/29-10/03

    • Cleanup, Signage, and Tree Installation 10/6-10/10
