Madison Street Infrastructure Improvements: Construction and Traffic Management Activities Week of September 8, 2025
Madison Street Infrastructure Improvements
The Madison Street Area Infrastructure Improvements project has been undertaken to mitigate localized flooding from rain events. To accomplish this, the project scope includes replacing existing inlets and sewer lines as well as elevating roadways, curbs, and sidewalks within the area. Ultimately, these improvements will alleviate the primary concerns by conveying the stormwater into the sewer system.
The following work and traffic management activities are anticipated for Monday, September 8th through Friday, September 12th between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.:
Work Activities:
Madison St between 9th and 10th Street
Install curbs on west side of Madison St.
Install PSEG light pole bases on west side of Madison St.
Construct sidewalk on the west side of Madison St.
Demo Existing sidewalk.
9th St between Madison St and Monroe St.
Demo existing sidewalk on North side.
Remove light pole bases for PSEG.
9th St and Madison St Intersection.
Finish the water main work at the Intersection.
Prepare for the line stop Installation.
Traffic Management:
9th St between Madison St and Monroe St will be closed.
Parking spaces will be available on East side of Madison St between 10th and 11th.
No-Parking on Madison St between 10th and 11th Street on West Side.
HPD will be on-site to assist with traffic management during construction.
