Madison Street Infrastructure Improvements: Construction and Traffic Management Activities Week of September 29th

Madison Street Infrastructure Improvements

The Madison Street Area Infrastructure Improvements project has been undertaken to mitigate localized flooding from rain events. To accomplish this, the project scope includes replacing existing inlets and sewer lines as well as elevating roadways, curbs, and sidewalks within the area. Ultimately, these improvements will alleviate the primary concerns by conveying the stormwater into the sewer system.

The following work and traffic management activities are anticipated for Monday, Sept 29th through Friday, Oct 3rd between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.:

Work Activities:

  • 9th St between Monroe St and Madison St

    • Demo existing sidewalk on south side.

    • Pour concrete curb on south side. 

    • Pour concrete sidewalk on the south side. 

    • Install PSEG light pole bases on south side. 

    • Install 2” PVC conduits for PSEG light poles. 

  • 9th St and Jefferson St. 

    • Install 16” Water Main Pipes. 

    • Install 16” expansion joint. 

    • Install 8” Water Main Pipe.

Traffic Management:

  • 9th Street between Madison Street and Monroe Sreett will be closed during work hours. 

  • 9th Street and Madison Street intersection will be closed during work hours. 

  • Parking spaces will be available on East side of Madison Street between 10th and 11th.

  • 50% Parking available on Madison Street between 10th and 11th Street on West side.

  • HPD will be on-site to assist with traffic management during construction.
