Madison Street Infrastructure Improvements: Construction and Traffic Management Activities Week of October 6th
Madison Street Infrastructure Improvements
The Madison Street Area Infrastructure Improvements project has been undertaken to mitigate localized flooding from rain events. To accomplish this, the project scope includes replacing existing inlets and sewer lines as well as elevating roadways, curbs, and sidewalks within the area. Ultimately, these improvements will alleviate the primary concerns by conveying the stormwater into the sewer system.
The following work and traffic management activities are anticipated for Monday, October 6th through Friday, October 10th between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.:
Work Activities:
9th Street between Madison Street and Monroe Street
Road to be closed during work hours. Monday 10/6/2025 (9 am – 4 pm) and intermittently closed Tuesday-Friday(9AM-4PM)
9th Street and Madison Street intersection
Road to be closed during work hours. (9 am – 4 pm) Tentatively, Monday 10/06/2025 only.
Madison Street between 8th Street and 9th Street
Road to be closed during work hours. (9am – 4 pm) Tentatively, Monday 10/06/2025 only.
Local Traffic Only
10th Street between Jefferson Street and Madison Street
10th Street will be open and allow alternating traffic assisted by Hoboken Officers
Madison Street / 11th Street Intersection
Road to be closed during work hours. (8 am – 4 pm) Tuesday 10/7/2025 to Thursday 10/9/2025.
Madison Street between 11th Street and 12th Street
Road to be closed during work hours. (8am – 4 pm) Tuesday 10/7/2025 to Thursday 10/9/2025.
11th Street between Monroe and Madison Street
Road to be closed during work hours. (8 am – 4 pm) Tuesday 10/7/2025 to Thursday 10/9/2025.
Traffic Management:
9th Street between Madison Street and Monroe Street
No parking on either side of the street (24/7)
Madison Street between 9th Street and 10th Street
No parking on either side of the street (24/7)
Madison Street between 10th Street and 11th Street
100% parking will be available on the east side (24/7)
50% parking will be available on the west side (24/7)
10th Street between Madison Street and Jefferson Street
There will be No Parking on 10th Street beginning Tuesday 10/07/2025 to Thursday 10/09/2025 (24/7)
HPD will be on-site to assist with traffic management during construction.
