NHSA H6/H7 Hoboken Phase 3 Construction and Traffic Management Activities: October 6th – October 10th, 2025

Project Overview
The goal of the project is to reduce combined sewer overflows (CSO’s) and improve the water quality of the Hudson River. As part of the project, new storm sewer lines and curb inlets will be installed which will alleviate drainage and potential flooding issues in the northern H6 and H7 drainage basins in Hoboken.

Key Phases & Timeline

  • Monday, October 6 to Friday, October 10, 2025

Construction Activities:

Pipeline Crew #1:

  • Grand Street between 14th Street and 15th Street

    • Installation of water main valve

Pipeline Crew #2:

  • 14th Street between Grand Street and Clinton Street (including intersections)

    • Relocation of 8" water main and other utilities

    • Installation of piles, pile caps, and pipe cradles

    • Installation of storm sewer pipe, manholes, and inlets

  • 15th Street and Clinton Street intersection

    • Relocation of combined sewer

    • Relocation of PSE&G gas

Restoration Crew:

  • 13th Street and Adams Street (northeast corner – 13th St remains open)

    • Sidewalk and Curb restoration

Traffic Management:

  • Grand Street between 13th and 14th Street

    • Road to be closed during working hours (8 am - 6 pm)

    • Roadway changed to 2-Way traffic (north and south) to allow access to resident garages.

  • 14th Street between Grand Street and Clinton Street (including intersections)

    • Road to be closed 24 hours, 7 days/week

  • 15th Street and Clinton Street intersection

    • 15th Street will be open and allow alternating traffic assisted by Hoboken Officers

    Temporary Parking Impacts:

  • Grand Street between 13th and 15th Street

    • No parking east of the street (24/7) 

  • Clinton Street between 14th Street and 15th Street

    • Temporary no parking east side of the street, south half, from 14th St to 15th St (6am - 6 pm)

  • 15th Street and Clinton Street intersection

    • Temporary no parking both sides of the both streets – 70’ in all directions (6am - 6 pm)
