Madison Street Infrastructure Improvements
The Madison Street Area Infrastructure Improvements project has been undertaken to mitigate localized flooding from rain events. To accomplish this, the project scope includes replacing existing inlets and sewer lines as well as elevating roadways, curbs, and sidewalks within the area. Ultimately, these improvements will alleviate the primary concerns by conveying the stormwater into the sewer system.
The following work and traffic management activities are anticipated for Monday, Oct 27th through Friday, Oct 31st between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.:
Work Activities:
9th Street between Monroe and Madison Street
Finish installation of brick paver sidewalk on both sides of 9th Street.
9th Street between Monroe and Madison Street
Finish installation of brick paver sidewalk on both sides of 9th Street.
Madison Street between 10th and 11th Street
Install Tree Pit guards both sides of Madison Street.
Madison Street between 9th and 10th Street
Install brick paver sidewalk on the east side of Madison Street.
Install tree pit guards on the east side of Madison Street.
Madison Street and 10th Street
Demo existing concrete driveway for Shoprite.
Pour new concrete driveway for Shoprite.
Demo existing ADA ramps in front of 1000 Jefferson Coffee.
Pour new ADA Ramps in front of 1000 Jefferson Coffee.
Madison Street and 11th Street Intersection
Demo existing ADA Ramps on the northeast and northwest corner of intersection.
Install new ADA Ramps on the northeast and northwest corner of intersection.
Traffic Management:
9th Street between Madison Street and Monroe Street
One Lane traffic will be open.
NO PARKING is allowed on both sides.
9th Street and Madison Street intersection
No Impacts, one lane traffic will be open.
Madison Street between 9th Street and 10th Street
One lane traffic on west side will be open.
Road to be closed periodically during the material deliveries from 9AM – 4PM.
10th Street between Jefferson Street and Madison Street
No Impact to existing traffic flow.
Madison Street and 11th Street Intersection
No Impact to existing traffic flow.
Madison Street between 11th Street and 12th Street
No Impact to existing traffic flow.
11th Street between Monroe and Madison Street
No Impact to existing traffic flow.
Temporary Parking Impacts:
9th Street between Madison and Monroe Street
No parking on either side of the street (24/7)
9th Street between Madison and Jefferson Street
No Impact on parking.
Madison Street between 9th and 10th Street
No parking on either side of the street (24/7)
Madison Street between 10th and 11th Street
100% parking will be available on the east side (24/7)
50% parking will be available on the west side (24/7)
10th Street between Madison and Jefferson Street
No Impact on parking.
11th St between Madison and Monroe St.
No Impact on parking.
HPD will be on-site to assist with traffic management during construction.
