Hoboken Charter School 5th Graders Explore Clean Water & Sustainability at NHSA

The North Hudson Sewerage Authority (NHSA) was excited to welcome the 5th‑grade class from Hoboken Charter School for an educational tour of our Hoboken facility in January 2026.

During their visit, students learned firsthand how wastewater is collected, treated, and safely returned to the environment. The tour included demonstrations of key infrastructure, an overview of how our treatment process protects local waterways, and discussions about careers in environmental science and engineering.

Our team was impressed by the students’ curiosity, thoughtful questions, and enthusiasm for learning about sustainability. Engaging with young community members is an important part of NHSA’s mission to promote environmental stewardship and support future leaders in science and technology.

NHSA is proud to partner with local schools and provide educational experiences that connect classroom learning with real-world systems that protect public health and the environment.

We look forward to welcoming more students and community groups in the future!
