NHSA Hosts Hudson School Students for Wastewater Treatment Plant Tour

NHSA had the pleasure of welcoming students from @thehudsonschool for a behind-the-scenes look at how wastewater is treated and returned safely to the Hudson River.

NHSA recently welcomed students from The Hudson School to the Adams Street Wastewater Treatment Plant for a behind-the-scenes look at how wastewater is treated and safely returned to the Hudson River.

During the visit, students explored what happens after water goes down the drain and saw the treatment process up close. From large tanks and flowing water to the systems that keep everything running, the tour offered a real-world view of the infrastructure that protects public health and our environment.

Students asked thoughtful questions throughout the visit, showing a strong interest in how wastewater treatment works and why it matters. These hands-on experiences help connect classroom learning to real-world applications, while highlighting the important role water systems play in keeping communities safe and waterways clean.

NHSA is proud to support educational opportunities like this and inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.
