Collection System Improvements Contract 4 - Week of December 2, 2025

Purpose of Project:
Rehabilitation of approximately 4,700 linear feet of combined sewers, manholes and service connection in the Cities of Union City and West New York.

  • Late February, contractor mobilize to Park Avenue Siphon Chamber

Description of Work

NHSA is performing preemptive sewer repair work throughout its service area. This work includes video inspection and cleaning of sewer pipes, followed by sewer lining. Sewer lining repairs old, cracked pipes by inserting and curing a resin-coated tube inside them, creating a new pipe without excavation.

Timing and Duration:

Work will take place at night, and is expected to start by 7:00 AM on December 2, 2025 and be completed by 3:00 PM on December 2, 2025.

Traffic Information:

  • Road Closures: Road closure on the Sterling Ave (Weehawken).

  • Parking Restrictions: No parking signs

  • Detours: None

  • Police presence: Yes

  • Noise/Disruptions: Sewer lining could produce some short duration noise.
