Collection System Improvements - 3 Sewer Lining Schedule Week of September 21st, 2026

Purpose of Project:
Rehabilitation of approximately 4,700 linear feet of combined sewers, manholes and service connection in the Cities of Union City and West New York.

Key Phases & Timeline

  • Sewer lining activities are expected to extend through the end of September 21st - September 25th.

Description of Work

  •  Clean and Video inspection of sewer mains.

Timing and Location:

  • 9/21 - 57th St. between Madison St and Jackson St--8am -3pm
    56th St between Jackson St and Jefferson St.--8am -5pm

  • 9/22 - Madison St between 62nd St and 64th St--8am -5pm
    Palisade Ave between 65th St and 66th St--8am -5pm

  • 9/23 - Jefferson between 55th St. and 56th St.-- 9am-2pm

  • 9/24 - Bergenline between 53rd St. and Schley Pl -- 9am-5pm

  • 9/25 – Liberty Place between Highwood Avenue and Burr Place --8am-5pm

Traffic Information:

  • Road Closures: Police will be onsite to close the streets if needed.

  • Parking Restrictions: No Parking signs on both sides of the street on 57th St., Madison St., Palisade Ave., Jefferson St., and Liberty Pl.  There will be no parking restrictions on Bergenline.

  • Detours: None

  • Police Presence: Yes; two officers

Community Impacts:

  • Noise/Disruptions: Clean and TV could produce some short duration noise.
