NHSA H6/H7 Hoboken Phase 3 Construction and Traffic Management Activities: September 1st – September 5th, 2025

Project Overview
The goal of the project is to reduce combined sewer overflows (CSO’s) and improve the water quality of the Hudson River. As part of the project, new storm sewer lines and curb inlets will be installed which will alleviate drainage and potential flooding issues in the northern H6 and H7 drainage basins in Hoboken.

Key Phases & Timeline

  • Monday, September 1 to Friday, September 5, 2025

Construction Activities:

Pipeline Crew #1:

  • Grand Street between 13th Street and 14th Street

    • Installation of piles, pile caps, and pipe cradles

    • Installation of 36" Storm pipe

    • Installation of manholes

Pipeline Crew #2:

  • Clinton Street between 13th Street and 14th Street  (Monday, August 25, 2025 to Wednesday, August 27, 2025)

    • Installation of piles and pile caps

    • Installation of 18" Storm pipe

    • Installation of manholes and catch basin inlets

Miscellaneous Work Activities:

  • Jefferson Street

    • Sidewalk and Curb restoration on Jefferson at 14th

  • Madison Street between 13th and 14th

    • Sidewalk and Curb restoration

Traffic Management:

  • Holiday:

    • Monday, September 1, 2025:  No Work Scheduled

  • Grand Street between 13th and 14th Street

    • No parking (24 hours, 7 days/week) on both sides of the street.

    • Road to be closed during working hours (8 am to 6 pm) and road open during non-working hours.

    • Grand Street:  Roadway changed to 2-Way traffic (north and south) to allow access to resident garages.

    • Access to resident garages will be available during working hours and non-working hours.

  • 13th Street between Adams Street and Clinton Street

    • No parking (Monday - Friday, 6 am to 6 pm) signs will be placed on both sides of 13th St between Adams and Clinton

    • Roadway open to all traffic

  • Clinton Street between 13th Street and 14th Street

    • No parking (24 hours, Monday to Saturday) signs will be placed on both sides of Clinton St between 13th and 14th St.

    • Road to be closed during working hours (8 am to 6 pm) and road open during non-working hours.

    • Access to resident garages/driveways will be available during working hours and non-working hours.

  • Clinton Street between 14th Street and 15th Street

    • No parking (Thursday and Friday, 6 am to 6 pm) signs will be placed on East side of Clinton St between 14th and 15th St.

  • 14th Street between Grand Street and Clinton Street

    • Road to be closed during working hours (8 am to 6 pm) and road open during non-working hours (Thursday and Friday).
