NHSA H6/H7 Hoboken Phase 3 Construction and Traffic Management Activities: May 5th – May 9th, 2025

Project Overview
The goal of the project is to reduce combined sewer overflows (CSO’s) and improve the water quality of the Hudson River. As part of the project, new storm sewer lines and curb inlets will be installed which will alleviate drainage and potential flooding issues in the northern H6 and H7 drainage basins in Hoboken.

Key Phases & Timeline

  • Monday, May 5 to Friday, May 9, 2025

  • Work Locations:

    • 15th Street between Madison Street and Adams Street

    • Jefferson Street between 13th Street and 15th Street

    • Adams Street between 15th Street and 16th Street

 Construction Activities

  • 15th Street between Adams Street and Grand Street

    • Installation of piles, pile caps, and concrete cradles along 15th Street between Adams Street and Grand Street

    • Installation of 24” Storm pipe along 15th Street between Adams Street and Grand Street

    • Installation of manholes along 15th Street between Adams Street and Grand Street

  • Adams Street between 15th Street and 16th Street

    • Installation of piles and pile caps north on Adams Street at the intersection of 15th Street and Adams Street

    • Installation of 18” Storm pipe north on Adams Street at the intersection of 15th Street and Adams Street

  • Jefferson Street between 13th Street and 14th Street

    • Installation of piles, pile caps, and concrete cradles along Jefferson Street

    • Installation of 36" Storm pipe at the intersection of 13th Street and Jefferson Street

    • Installation of manholes and inlets along Jefferson Street

  • Grand Street and 15th Street

    • 16" Waterline relocation on 15th Street for placement of the new storm piping.

  • Jefferson Street and 15th Street

    • Gas line relocation (pending coordination with PSE&G)

Traffic Management

  • 15th Street between Madison Street and Grand Street

    • HPD Officers will be present on site to assist in traffic redirection.

    • No parking (24 hours, 7 days/week) signs will be placed on both sides of 15th Street between Madison Street and Grand Street.

    • Road closed during working hours.  Trucks re-routed on truck detour route.

    • Academy Bus Services can access work area to enter/exit their parking lots.

  • Adams Street between 15th and 16th Street

    • No parking (24 hours, 7 days/week) signs will be placed on both sides of the South end of Adams Street (mid-block only).

    • Road closed during working hours. 

  • Jefferson Street between 13th Street and 14th Street

    • No parking (24 hours, 7 days/week) both sides of the street

    • Municipal Parking Lot to be open and accessible for all registered permit holders

    • Road closed to traffic 24 hours, 7 days/week.

  • 13th Street between Jefferson and Madison`

    • No parking (24 hours, 7 days/week) along 13th Street between Jefferson Street and Madison Street (both sides of the street)

    • Roadway open to traffic as this is the truck detour route

  • Madison/Jefferson/Adams Street between 14th and 15th Street

    • No parking (24 hours, 7 days/week) both sides of the streets of Madison, Jefferson, and Adams Street

    • Madison Street between 14th and 15th Street open to traffic

    • Jefferson Street between 14th and 15th Street open to traffic

    • Adams Street between 14th and 15th Street open to traffic

      • Academy Bus Service re-configured entrance/exit routing

  • Truck Route Diversion

    • All truck route diversion signs to be in place for the re-directed temporary truck route (Willow Street South bound, to 13th Street west bound, to Madison south bound).

Work Hours

  • Start: 8:00 am

  • Finish: 6:00 pm
